She's a hugely popular performer who has sold more than 41 million albums worldwide and over 150 million songs. Her parents hail originally from Barbados and she began singing as a child. Disturbed by their chaotic home life as well as the constant arguments between her parents she immersed herself in music, and eventually realized that she wanted to become a professional musician. When she was still in high school, she formed a music group, and was asked to sing with Evan Rodgers. The producer was very impressed with the ability of this girl. To earn money as a professional singer, he asked her to relocate in New York. Rihanna released her debut album, and was an instant hit. Young people adored her upbeat songs, which led Rihanna to create movies. Pretty young and highly talented she is today regarded as a popular teen star and fashion icon.
